“It’s amazing I won. I was running against peace, prosperity, and incumbency.” – George W. Bush, June 14, 2001 (speaking to Swedish Prime Minister Goran Perrson, unaware that a live camera was still rolling)
What we’re witnessing is the official, ever-so-gradual squeezing out of everything that’s really precious to America. It’s as though we’re throwing away something so valuable that it goes almost beyond the ability of words to convey it. We’re taking the finest life has to offer, like the most precious memories of our children, of their birth, of their accomplishments—and we’re taking the sacrifices of our soldiers, of our patriots, our nation’s martyrs—and we’re junking them.
==The Marketing of Evil: How Radicals, Elitists, and Pseudo-Experts Sell Us Corruption Disguised As Freedom (David Kupelian)
America is the “Land of Hypocrisy.” It claims to “protect freedom,” while denying millions of their right to live. It claims to be “the land of the free,” while granting fewer guaranteed rights to its citizens than most industrialized nations. It proclaims “one nation, under God” and “in God we trust” while violating the commandments and teachings of the major religions. It claims to encourage “free trade” and “capitalism” while using tax dollars to help the rich get richer. It claims to be “remaining competitive in today’s market,” while firing hard workers and exploiting cheap labor around the globe. It claims to be a “democracy” while it acts strictly in the interests of its corporate sponsors. It claims “liberty and justice for all” while executing innocent humans and depriving an enormous percentage of the world of basic human rights. It claims to be launching “peace-keeping” missions while it drops napalm and bombs on civilians from the sky above. It claims to be giving “humanitarian aid” while piling up human corpses in the streets and rivers. It claims to be stopping “the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction” while it builds upon its massive arsenal of such weapons. It claims to be fighting “terrorism” while it assassinates political leaders and bombs civilian buildings. It claims to be “liberating Iraq” while illegally slaughtering civilians with massive bombs. It claims to be protecting “truth” while it blatantly lies and deceives the masses. It claims to have a “free press” while it suppresses independent voices from radio, television, and print. Soldiers claim to be “serving their country” while actually serving the interests of the politicians and corporate elite.
==Land of Hypocrisy (Kennie Anderson)
In his epic acceptance of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Literature, Harold Pinter referred to `a vast tapestry of lies, upon which we feed’. He asked why `the systematic brutality, the widespread atrocities, the ruthless suppression of independent thought’ of Stalinist Russia were well known in the West while American imperial crimes were merely `superficially recorded, let alone documented, let alone acknowledged’.
Across the world, the extinction and suffering of countless human beings could be attributed to rampant America. `But you wouldn’t know it,’ said Pinter. `It never happened. Nothing ever happened. Even while it was happening it never happened. It didn’t matter. It was of no interest.’
==Freedom Next Time: Resisting the Empire (John Pilger)
The collapse of industrial civilization will be challenging for those who have been preparing for it; for those who haven’t, it will involve massive trauma. The less attached we are to living life as we have known it, and the more open and resilient we are—the more we are utilizing the myriad tools that exist for preparing our emotions, our bodies, and our souls for collapse—the more capacity we create for navigating a formidable future.
==Collapsing Consciously: Transformative Truths for Turbulent Times (Sacred Activism) (Carolyn Baker Phd)
Another terrific piece from Brandon Smith.
So malleable, so accepting so lobotomized are we…..the time is coming though, rather soon I believe, when the illusions will start to fade and those that wish to see will do so with cleared vision and those that do not desire the truth, will be frozen, traumatized by the destruction of their comforting delusions, fed to them since birth by an amoral, sociopathic empire.
Reality and truth exist, just not on your television or within any of the mainstream media. One does not need to be a survivalist “prepper” by any means, but being mentally prepared for the rawness and ugliness of the truth may help one to survive.
There is nothing worse than a die-hard neoconservative. Of all the socialist horrors wrought against the American public by the Obama administration and its small but impressively insane group of followers, the neoliberals are at least relatively open about their disdain for the Constitution as well as their intentions to reduce our country to a Third World communist enclave. Neoconservatives, on the other hand, have the audacity to pretend as if they adore the Bill of Rights, posing as freedom fighters and champions of liberty while working intently to administer the same exact despotic policies and socialist infrastructure.
As most readers are aware, the false left/right paradigm has been the primary control mechanism used against the American people for decades. The idea being that in order for establishment elites to maintain control of a population with a heritage of independence, a facade of choice must be created to placate the dim-witted masses while the system itself is dominated from behind the scenes. The people of a republic must be conned into participating in the process of their own enslavement, at least until the oligarchs are ready to unleash full-blown totalitarianism. The concept of free elections becomes a grand theatrical display when most candidates, regardless of party affiliation, are bought, bribed, blackmailed or philosophically allied with the elite. The actions of these candidates speak far louder than their rhetoric for those with the sense to pay attention. But for many people, the attachment to the sports team mentality of politics is just too much to resist. For them, the circus is reality.
